Aleksei also participates in various other activities including short films, motion pictures and TV modeling. 2007 was the year she started her television career. Alex Guarnaschelli...................Alex Guarnaschelli is the daughter of cookbook editor Maria Guarnaschelli and John Guarnaschelli. She was originally born in St. Louis before moving to New York City a short period of time. The year was 1991 when Barnard College granted her an Art History degree. In the same year, she was employed as an intern in An American Place restaurant for a year. Guarnaschelli began her culinary instruction by watching her prepare cookbooks, and testing recipes. She interned with Larry Forgione and then at several restaurants in New York France and Los Angeles including Guy Savoy's La Butte Chaillot. She was eventually appointed the executive chef of Butter. Guarnaschelli participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America in 2007. She fought Cat Cora at the Farmers Market Battle of 2007 and she won. Since then, she has been at the show's guest judges and took part in The Next Iron Chef Season Four in 2011, when she came in third. She lost out in the Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast. Following The next Iron Chef's fourth season, she was appointed sous-chef by Iron chef Geoffrey Zakarian. She was the host of Food Network's The Cooking Loft With Alex Guarnaschelli in 2008, and she teaches a small group of students in how to make classic recipes.
